Write an essay (200-300 words) that describes:

1. Two aspects of film noir (theme, narrative, or sound/image style) in Mildred Pierce.
2. Two aspects of melodrama (theme, narrative, or sound/image style) in Mildred Pierce.
3. How the ending is or is not typical of film noir.
